Changing of music videos of Female Artists
If we were too look back of the earlier 'music videos' we see a massive difference from what we see now. For example the jazz musician Bessie Smith when she made her 'music videos' or as they where called then short films to accompany her popular songs it mainly focused on her and the song not so much as to what you could explain through a video, as time went on we started to see a change in how female artists are shown through there video's. For example Marylin Monroe- Diamonds are a girls best friend we see more of a theatrical approach where there has been more thought of to how the singer will be portrayed. We also see her acting more provocative and focusing on how she looks. As we look later on we see that it has been taken to the extremes of how female artists were seen as provocative. This is seen in videos such as Lady Gaga- Pokerface.
